How does a heat pump work?
A heat pump extracts thermal energy from the outdoor air and transfers it inside your home, just like a fridge in reverse. For every 1 kWh of electricity it consumes, it produces 3 to 5 kWh of heat (COP 3–5), making it far more efficient than a gas boiler or electric resistance heater.
Does a heat pump work in Lisbon's climate?
Yes, very well. Modern heat pumps work efficiently down to -15°C. Greater Lisbon's mild climate is ideal — the equipment runs at peak efficiency for most of the year, maximising your energy savings compared to colder climates.
Can I keep my existing radiators?
In many cases, yes. Heat pumps work best with low-temperature radiators (45–55°C) or underfloor heating. We assess your existing system during the site visit and advise whether the radiators are compatible or need upgrading. In newer properties, the existing system is often fine.
How long does the installation take?
A standard installation takes 1 to 2 days. You'll have a working system on the same day as installation. We handle all the technical commissioning and leave everything clean and ready to use.
